If you have to choose a place to enjoy contemporary art, Barcelona is your city. Aside of a long list of famous Catalan artists, such as Picasso, Miro, Dali and Tapies, artistic architectural expressions can be found everywhere.  While art in other cities is confined to museums and galleries, in Barcelona art is a part of the fabric of the city, with beautiful examples of modernist architecture of the 19th and the beginning of the 20th centuries. The most obvious ones are Gaudi’s creations (Sagrada Familia, Casa Batllo, Casa Mila), but a walk through the Barrio Gotico (Gothic Quartier) is a visit to a golden era, shown in every portal and every door. Sitting in a tapas bar somewhere in The Born it is possible to admire a corner building beautifully maintained, and have a peek at how life was 150 years ago.

The city has superb museums such as the ones dedicated to Picasso, Miro and Tapies, and also the MACBA (Barcelona Museum of Contemporary Art), the MNAC (National Art Museum of Catalunya), the Museum of Design, and Barcelona best-kept secret the Museum Can Framis in Poblenou housing a brilliant contemporary Catalan art collection.  The workshop will run in the Poblenou, now vibrant area with a great mix of historical fishermen houses, recycled buildings remnants of its industrial past, and its iconic Rambla, the hub of the life in the neighborhood and a wonderful urban attraction. While there, you may have a wonder about and have a look at great street art in display all around.
